(type domain here)
If you already have a domain name registered, we will discuss the possibility of having Byte manage the domain name for you. You will still be the owner of the domain, but Byte would be named as the technical contact for renewal notices, etc. If you choose to have Byte manage your domain, we will transfer the domain into our registry account so that we can monitor the domain and set up DNS easier. If you want to maintain your own domain that is fine. We will send you the correct name server information as we move forward with your project.

If this is a new site and the domain name is not registered yet you can register a new domain through Byte, please use this form:
http://www.bytepro.net/domain/domain.php
username = customer
password = etyb
If the client already has a domain we prefer to transfer the Domain into our registrar control for ease of use and renewing.
We can transfer the domain a couple of different ways.
1- The client must obtain and provide us with the Transfer Authorization Key from the registrar account and lift the registrar lock. Then we can submit a transfer request. After the transfer request has been submitted the person listed as the email contact in the Admin Info associated with the domain will need to approve the transfer. This is usually done via an email including a link to approve the transfer request. Some times the email on the Admin info is an old one, or registered to a name that no longer gets email at that address. If that is the case the customer will have to log into their domain registrar account and change the email to a current address.
2- The easiest way for us to transfer a domain is for the client to provide us with their Registrar log in info. This works if the client is comfortable giving us that info. That way we can go in, find the Transfer Authorization Key, temporarily change the address in the Admin info to our address. Then approve the transfer without involving the client.

We prefer to host all of the sites we build. If the site has any dynamic pages even a contact form, we require to host the site on our servers.
If the site is all static html pages we can build or maintain sites on other servers, yet we prefer not to work in this way. If it is necessary for the site to be hosted elsewhere we charge extra based on server platforms and other unknown issues.
|
If the customer has an existing site that needs to be transferred we will need access to their site files either via an FTP server, or they can provide us with a disc with the site files.
Please provide us with the FTP account info here.
ftp address:
username:
password:
No ftp - site files will be burned to disk and sent via mail or other transfer method.
|
No way to get original site files
If there is no FTP access an no method to obtain the existing site files we can initiate a site scrape. This will only scrape down static html pages, but will allow us to get all of the existing files currently on line. If a client needs us to scrape the site files this will could also add to the cost of porting a site. |
